Stocks Selling Below Cash Update

About a month ago, I posted several stocks that were selling below cash. At the time, I decided to create a portfolio that would track these names on Yahoo! Finance, which I called my Stocks Selling Below Cash Index. The performance of this index so far in such a short span of time has been truly surprising. Assuming an equal weighted portfolio worth $100,000 in total, would have returned 25.59%, excluding transaction costs (commissions and slippage- most names aren’t extremely liquid).

Here are the results of the individual portfolio constituents so far. Some stocks no longer sell below cash, such as Immersion Corporation (IMMR) and Novatel Wireless (NVTL). Other names are up substantially but still sell below cash, while SIRF has seen a modest decline in its share price. The next performance update will be given in a month from now in early February.
